Rick Baker

Rick Baker

Rick was born in Macoupin County, IL near Nilwood. His parents were active in church and lived out their Christianity which helped shape Rick’s faith at an early age. When he was just 8 years old, his dad led him through several Scriptures guiding him to place his trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins. He was baptized soon after.

His wife, Brenda, is his childhood sweetheart. They were married in 1972 and have two Godly sons who, along with their wives, have blessed them with 8 precious grandkids.

Rick and Brenda moved to Lexington in 1976 when Rick became a high school math teacher and coach of many sports. Eventually, Rick had the opportunity to hold the position of high school principal at LCHS for many years. He is retired now but continues to substitute teach in a number of the area schools.

Busy with many areas of service at LCC (elder, teacher, worship team, finance team, Upward co-director, and Carpenters For Christ), Rick enjoys hanging out with Brenda, jogging, hunting, and being with his grandkids in his free time.

The part of Lexington Community Church that Rick enjoys the most is seeing God’s hand at work here in many ways. Especially precious is to have the Lord inspire so many of our Christian brothers and sisters to have a deep hunger for truth and the sweet fellowship of searching together in His Word for it.
